Transmission.

Well I was always a lover of the MX-3, but that has faded fast. I bought a 93' MX-3GS about 7 months ago and in that time the transmission has gone twice. The guy who owned it before me had it rebuilt once also. The most recent rebuild consisted of all new parts. It's an automatic (I know its not a stick but lets forget about that for now). I'm wondering if anyone out there has had, or knows of similar problems with that automatic transmission.

The MX-3 ATX gearboxes suck. I know one guy who's on gearbox #12.

Yea, I'm realising first hand just how shitty they are. The unfortunate thing is that this whole situation has soured me on MX-3's completely.

i recommend you upgrade to the mx-6/626 tranny. I did it and i've had no problems since.

Alright, I've got the car back. The guy who rebuilt the tranny says that it wasen't any fault of the rebuild, that the person I got to take out/put in the tranny(licenced mechanic) did not properly flush the valves and thus a sticky valve was to blame for the tranny not being able to shift properly. So now there has been a proper flush done (by him).
I'm wondering if theres any truth to this story, or is it just the dude who did my transmission (without record) trying to save his a-- and make some extra cash to boot.
Please respond to this only if you have any similar experience with such problems or are very familiar with the MX-3 ATX. Thank-you. :)
