i have to check out this issue im having where whenever i turn my steering wheel to the right, i hear an air hissing noise coming from the steering column. it doesnt matter if the car is moving or not. p/s fluid level is at maximum.
not sure what's up so i need someone who knows these cars in and out.

that's a normal power assist steering noise - the power assist on ford cars around the same time made the same noise (thinking back to a friends' ford tempo)<p>anyways i don't think you need to worry about it at all

hmm ya, i had a feeling that it's nothing critical but still, it's a little annoying and it wasnt always there. oh well, what do you expect from an old car?

Does it happen when you turn your wheel to the left? How far are you turning, Half way, to the lock? What kind of hissing sound it is, like an airhose with a tiny hole or more like a whine?

Get it checked out then. But if it is anything that needs repair. Get a few opinions.
