MX-West G3 Site (BETA 1) - NOW ONLINE!!!

Post by -=MagMan=- »

I am VERY pleased to announce that BETA 1 of MX-West's new Third Generation site is ready for viewing, and a day early I might add! It can be found at the following URL:
http://cyberwavecc_beta.tripod.com/
There are only a few pages currently online, including the Flash Intro, Home page, Links, Faq, Member Database (main page) and 1 Member Profile, just for testing purposes.
Over the next few days I will be testing this BETA with various computer & browser configurations to determine any hidden bugs in the design, and fine tuning the Flash components to make them run as smoothly as possible.
You'll have to excuse the nagging pop-up windows, but that's Tripod for you .
Any feedback on the new site would be greatly appreaciated!
[ July 05, 2002: Message edited by: -=MagMan=- ]
[ July 05, 2002: Message edited by: -=MagMan=- ]

Hey there everyone.
Kevin and I already found a minor bug (more of a design limitation) in the new G3 site. We've discovered that it is NOT compatible with Netscape browsers older than 6.0, as previous versions do not support floating frames (IFRAME).
Because the new site is based on this layout, I will not be implementing any changes to compensate for NS browsers previous to version 6.
Besides, according to a recent survey, 95% of you already use IE 5.0 or higher, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about :D

You could put a choice on the main page to either go with IE or netscape.

I can place a notice on the intro page, informing ppl that the site requires a certain browser, but for me to offer support for older versions of Netscape, I'd have to design another site without IFRAME's. That is A) too much work for me to sync two sites together at the same time and B) insufficient server space to keep two independent copies going.

Damn man, you from Nova Scotia? Go find yourself a wicked MX-3 club site over there! :D Just kidden...
Hmmm, I'm actually surprised at the lack of apparent interest in the new site design. Haven't gotten any suggestions via e-mail yet, with the exception of the Skip Intro deal Jon brought up...
And no one has e-mailed me or Kevin any member info updates! C'mon people, I don't wanna have to go back once the site is finished and start updating it then! You people need to get into the Army and get in shape...
Ah forget it, Canada's got jack for an army, you'd probably be better off going to college HAHAHA!
[ July 07, 2002: Message edited by: -=MagMan=- ]

Edison, you're better off just e-mailing all the members. Not all of them are signed up on the forum.

Everytime I go to the site it brings up a Login Window... what's the deal with that?
I think it looks good so far... very eye catching.

That issue will be addressed in BETA 3 before the site is launched.
