1st time at the track

Post by Xero »

So, I took my k8 to Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconson to run with people from Probetalk.
Saw some turbo'd probes and other interesting stuff.

I've GOT: PRM intake
Magnafart muffler
no back seats, spare tire, jack, seatbelts, carpet, wood thing,

My best run(of 3)was against a girl driving a civic si
R/T: 1.210
60': 2.505
330': 7.012
1/8: 10.689
1000': 13.849
1/4: 16.541@84.33(Civic Si -18.317@71.71)

I'm not too dissapointed, it was my first time and I was overanxious with my launches. It's addicting though, all I've been thinking about is how I can improve my 60' and if I can budget enough for a KL03.

not to shabby for your first time out, i think if you can get your r/t down a smidgin you'd have a great time!
Goal: 1/4 mile time of 13.099 or better, N/A. ...still in the works

R/T doesnt play a part in your 1/4 mile time. the timer starts as soon as you trip the laser/when you move. the purpose of R/T is this, for example:

I ran a z28 at the track a couple of weeks ago. he ended up running a 14.7@100mph, I ran a 14.8@92mph. BUT, i beat him because my r/t was .8xx and his was 1.3xx (cant remember specifics). basically i was at the end of the track before him(because i left sooner), even tho he ran a 14.7. hope that explains it well enough :D

Yes it has no effect. But you cannot get a .2 second reaction time. It takes .5 seconds for the light to go from yellow to green, so a perfect reaction time is .5

thanks, i guess i always was under the impression that as soon as the light went green, the first guy to cross the line won. is that for bracket racing or all 1/4 mile? i've never been to a strip cause im waiting til my car is done w/upgrades.(and there's a lot)
