15.845..... with K8 !!

Post by Max »

Well i went to the track saturday the 28th.
Last time i went my best run was 16.277. I'm incredibly please with my new record...a 15.845 @ 87.725 MPH.
On that run my reaction was .626 (my best that day was .585)
(I1)0-60 ft was 2.363 (Best so far)
(I2)6.984
(I3)1/8th was 10.218
E.T 15.845 at 87.725 MPH
The best thing about that run was beating a souped up civic with slicks... he ran 15.638 at 87.519 but his reaction was .936 therefore i won by 1/2 car lenght... he was catching up slowly. In total i ran about 10 times got 4 runs in the 15's and the others were 16.0-1-2... got those times with the modes i have in my sig and i tried Luc St-Pierre PRC solenoid mod. I tapped the control line and use a switch to ground it. This gives you 42 psi of fuel at all times. As you can see it did work ! My first run i ran a 16.249 without the switch. Once i grounded the solenoid my times went down by .2 to .3... I just wanted to share this with you guys

See, shifting at fuel cut IS a good idea :)
Nice times! Makes me wish I had got the K8 back to the track with a clutch that would hold past 4500RPM!

Nice work max, what mods you got on your k8? I hit 15.912 with the k8 with intake and full exhaust with a high flow cat and a very well maintained engine. I agree with the high shifting I usually shift at 7500 when Im racing, these engines can take it, and with my 2.5 inch exhaust shifting later is needed because my exhaust piping is to big(I made it that way for the kl03 coming up)
1993 Mazda mx-3 GS - Blaze Red (Totaled) Went through an 89 rx7 and a 93 del sol. Now searching again!

well i have a K&N intake with a duct that directs the air to intake, and brullen cat-back (2 1/4, do you think it's going to be a restriction for the ZE ?) And I grounded the PRC solenoid... Thats it for the engine.
Got kvr rotors all round, SRD Crossmember & Tie-Bar. Stock rims and shitty rubbers (Predators from Canadian Tire....please don't laugh)
