Keep it at the track guys...

After all the drama with that kid getting killed due to street racing in Canada I thought some of you would get the idea that street racing is not a good idea. It is illegal and you can get arrested, get your car impounded or even worse killed. I know that if people keep posting about street races that this forum will get closed forever. If you are not on the track or at the drag strip please do not post. You are going to ruin it for the rest of us that do go racing at approved raceways. Just my two cents..

I have an issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords that had an article about street racing. In NYC, they really cracked down on it. They seized two 5.0 Mustangs from some street racers (one was complete with a supercharger). They took these cars from them and they turned them into NYPD patrol cars. That is HARSH!!!!
The point is, not only is it dangerous and illegal, but you can have your car taken away.

Not to get on the wrong side or anything, but as long as there are fast cars, there is going to be street racing. It doesn't matter how many cars get impounded, we will still race. Doesn't matter how many of us put on the "I am such a good girl/boy, and will never race on the streets" act, but we all know that you don't put an intake, exhaust, turbo, N20, KL_ZE, or s--- like that so that we can drive 100 miles to the nearest track to race. We're gunna show it off at the first chance we get, and yes, that will be on the way home from the shop. ON THE STREET. I can admire that you don't want street racing posts, and that is fine, but don't think we're not gunna race, and don't play like you don't. I hate posers, and I hate fakes. Just be honest, and quit the games.

I know where you are coming from. I am the last one to say I do not race. I am just saying that this forum is not for street racing. Thats all. I know my car is fast and I choose not to put up my stories. Sorry if I offended anyone.

quote:
Originally posted by MX-3.com:
I have expressed my thoughts on street racing many times before. Everyone nows that racing depends on the driver not the car.
From now on if there are any posts relating to illegal street racing, whether it be on the highway, downtown streets, rural roads or empty industrial roads, I have given permission to all of the moderators on this bulletin board to delete them with out a question.
No one cares if you beat that 240SX, or the Civic Si. i understand what ur sayin i guess, but i dont see how us posting about kills, would anyhow matter, we know your not promoting it, why dont u set up a special catagory for people that are dying to tell their stories, and i personally do not see whats wrong with racing on abandoned roads, (ie the airport the city lets us use, would that still be acceptable)

Anything else you wanted to point out?

I *SO* agree with keeping it at the track!!! DO IT!! I wrecked my MX-6 GT racing some riceboy who wasnt worth the gas at speeds WELL over 200km/h on the 401. Needless to say while trying to avoid OTHER traffic, we both lost control and smashed up our cars BADLY... luckily no one was hurt (not even us, and my car looked like an accordian, his car had no hood/engine). In short, don't be a RICER, be a racer and KEEP IT AT THE TRACK, not publicly occupied ROADS!
Thank yaw.
PS - if you MUST race in a non-designated area... keep it to where it is clear or known to be clear.
