wierd problems

hey guys, im having some problems w/the mx (gs) and am wanting some input. lately it's been sputtering while im accelerating. not all the times, just some times, i'll start out in 1st and around 2700-2800 rpms it'll sputter real quick then stop and drive normal. the wierd thing is it happens all over the rpm band (at least under about 4k)

...so my thought was, clogged air filter, so i go out get one, pop a new one in the air box and nothing, it seems to do the same stuff. and today when i was on the highway cruising at about 70, i'd punch the gas to pass someone and the rpms would jump about 200-400 or so before i actually was getting any actual response ???

any ideas, now im thinking injectors or maybe i've got some bad seals, i'm eating 1/2 qt of oil a week...

if you're going through that much oil, check to be sure that your plugs aren't fouled with oil.. that will certainly cause the engine to misfire

i hate to reopen this discussion but i got to thinking today after changing fuel filters, could it be my clutch starting to fail...?

...the only reason i even considered it is because of the delayed response in the throttle, i'll give it gas and the tack goes up but the mph dont follow til a good 1/2-1 second later....?

...thoughts? comments? slaps in the face?

thanks
