I like the skirts, nice and smooth looking. Are they off another car or did you make them?

Holy stripped interior batman!! j/k i'm not gonna hate b/c mine looked like that for a while too. i had to put some stuff back in b/c it was just too loud inside the car. i mounted my harness to the bolt holes where the back seat belts bolted up(on the seat portion not the strut tower).
a few things: i like the taillights and the side skirts, they are very clean.
however i liked the turn signals better blacked out. why did you remove the instrument cluster? i also had no idea your car was an auto.
there is a pic on my website(kinda sorta) check my sig.
ps. i love the MS steering wheel.

Not my style, bro. :confused2:

Love the side skirts overall outline, but they are kinda flat.

Whatever floats your boat!

RICE!!!!!

J/K.... hehee. I think it would look better externaly if you had a fron OE lip and a custom rear Lip. Internaly are you goin with a striped "race" look or a "stock W/ Extras" look?
If you go with a striped look keep the same paint. If you go with a stock w/ extras look, It'd look cool to make Fiberglass raplacement peces for the interior.

I would bolt your seatbelts down on the floor where the lower part of the belt bolted to. I think it is safer that way.
Is that a copper pipe for a rear strut brace?

Yes, Do that only if you want to have your back broken if you crash. Mounting your shoulder belt to the floor behind you will cause your back to compress and break if you crash. Lap belts can be mounted to the floor, Shoulder belts should be on the upper rear strut mount like you have it, or on a cross bar in a roll cage.

Where you have it mounted now is more safe than the floor. If you think about it, the rear seatbelts are mounted at the top of the rear strut tower as well.

However, I would use the same bolt that the rear seatbelt uses instead of an upper strut bolt.

Hmmm. I wonder why the shop I took my car to get the seat and belt installed did it that way then...

actually i think jarid's setup is fine because of that rollbar, since the harness rolls over that bar its actually perpendicular to your back, yet secured by the bottom. that way if you crash, the rollbar will prevent that compression that can really mess up your spine. but yea i decided to mount it at the OE rear seatbelt position. i believe the rear seat belt bracket was originally mounted to the strut bolt from the factory.

yes it is stamped copper. very ghetto. im replacing it with a corksport unit however and going to wrap the center of both strutbars with cfiber, mostly for looks.

mikeuk: the skirts are actually the mazdaspeed skirts for my car, and i recently wrecked it from a curb, so i repaired it and molded another skirt from an rx-7 that i modified to fit it. was aiming for the sleek OE look.

shady: the turnsignals were blacked out, but faded because i didn't clear coat them. i might retint them with just one layer and not too dark that i had before. they actually look darker in person than in that pic. i guess its because of the flash. oh and remember my old instrument cluster needles broke, which is why i have the digital speedometer in my pillar pod? well im putting in a new cluster with a speedhut cfiber bezel. just haven't gotten it yet.

se-man: actually the OE v6 front spoiler is in my plans for this car. just i never got to purchasing one yet. oh and i'm going for the stripped 'race' look. not too many extras aside from racing seats, the harnesses, rear strut bar, aluminum fuel cell in the back (yes that means pump and inline filter will be back there too), rear trunk battery relocation, mazdaspeed steering wheel, lcd headunit, srd ebrake, greddy shift knob, and the gauges. pretty much everything else will be stock or stripped.

thanks for the suggestions guys.

The difference on yours Jarid is that it is going over the roll cage.

If the angle of the seatbelt from the anchoring point to the seat is MORE than 45 degrees, it is very dangerous and should be done right. In case of an accident, it will compress your spine, and more than likely break your seat.

Yours should be okay Jarid because its going over the roll cage and therefore making the angle less than 45 degrees.
