RS to 4 wheel disk

Post by Josh »

well im almost done with the rear wheel disk conversion. i just need to bleed out the break lines. i went ahead and went all out. i got the Brembo cross drilled slotted roters, KVR carbon fiber pads, and CS SS brake lines. cleaned up my wrecking yard special spindles, hubs, and calipers. got them looking all pretty again. what a pain.
i forgot when putting in the Master cylnder from the GS that it only had two ports coming off of it. and my local auto parts stores had absolutly nothing to split one of them off into two(cause the RS has 3 off the Master). i was going to drill and tap the other side of the master cylnder but no one could get a rebuild kit for the dumb thing. didnt they use the master cylinder out of the V6 in several cars, like the MX6, and Probe.

but anyway has anyone had trouble putting in the CS ss Break lines. they dont fit in like the OEM, there not rounded on the one side of the nut so the damb clips wont hardly go in. anyone else have this problem. it just kinda ticked me off, that you pay almost a hundred bucks for something that doesent fit quite rite. but then i guess when your putting on performance stuff nothing ever fits like its supposed to.
just felt like telling everyone what i was up to :)

you need the following off of the V6 model MX3
-spindles
-hubs
-rear disks
-rear pads
-complete e-brake cable assyembly
-brake lines and since your changing everything anyways it would be a good time to throw in up graded brake lines, such as the CS SS lines. built to DOT specs :D
-a complete V6 Master Cylnder with power assyembly
(the RS has 3 ports off the master cyl, and the GS only has two so you need to split one line off into 2 or drill and tap the other side of the master cyl. there might be some newer models of cars that have the same master cyl where one side is already drilled and tapped)

Does anyone know if the rear disk brake system on a probe can be swaped over? I know that the escort gt disks sys can be swaped but it has a smaller disk.
Also post some pics if you can Josh.

Is that really true that the cs ss brakeline kit isnt fitting correct?? they even state something like its purposebuilt and not just a line that happens to fit

Anybody else who have experienced that theyre missing the rounded part of the nut?
Or somebody who knows if the goodridge ss brakeline kit that they allso sell, fits correctly??

We have sold dozens of sets of the SS Brake lines and haven't had any issues. After reading your posting we checked our entire stock and couldn't find one with the issue you described. We have heard that the clips do not line up properly on most pre-'94 models.

If you or anyone else with a similar situation could take photos and send then to us we would be happy to look into it and let you know what we find.

Mazdmotorhead: The springclips should fit just fine if the groove the clip catches on to is on the nut,but if the nut is missing the rounded "corner" then ofcourse the nut wont fit probertly and then neither would the clip....

Havent seen this myself though, but i had hoped that josh would have told if he got it to work or if there really were a problem, because i want a set of SS brakelines
