auto seatbelt stuck....

Post by fieval79 »

Hey guys. Anyone know how to fix the auto seatbelts?? My driver side is stuck....doesn't even sound like it is trying to work.

Don't say take it to Mazda for the recall....already tried that. lol. The recall expired for the 92 model 1 week ago, the guy said they are only kept open for 12 years. Also, my mx has a salvaged title, so they wouldn't have done the work for free anyways.

Would it be easier to replace them with a regular seatbelt, or just hit up some junkyards and find a motor??

Being that the seatbelt is REQUIRED for safety purposes-- it is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle.

They should still replace it for free.

Go back, raise hell, speak to the manager, then speak to his boss, then call Mazda directly if they still wont help.

With the recall... what do they do? My '93 should still be open for that.
I really want to get rid of these crappy auto belts though. :welder:

I just got them replaced in my daughters 92 MX 3 last week for free. No questions asked. Also needed a control unit (under the drivers seat) that I got at the junk yard for $2.54 US$.

The replacement is to go to the secured point on the I beam behind the door.

All canadian MX-3s came with that setup standard.

But yeah..scream at the dealer, and at mazda.
