Hi guys, I got a deal for 4 struts Tokico Heavy duty Part number M-18000-Z2 (black struts) with the Eibach Pro-kit spring set. Everything cost me 340$US shipped to my door, and everything is BRAND NEW in box.

I was thinking to buy the Tokico High performance struts, but thats a pretty good deal I think.

Would that be a good setup for my mx3? I heard Eibach springs are the best with these struts...

I saw on another post that ZX2 struts drop of 0.5" and these springs of 1.0" so that would be perfect 1.5" since I have a body kit and I dont want to break it everytime I get a little bump...

what do you think? I am about to order them tonight, I would appreciate any suggestions or advices...
thanks alot

Quality struts, and quality springs my friend. I think you've hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't worry too much about the drop unless you have plans that would interfere with ride height. Just don't go too much lower. Speed bumps will catch up with you. peace.

I have this setup and the drop is about 4cm... but struts are TOO soft. I recommend to stiffen them before put them in. Each bump my 17" scratch inside the wheel well...

zx2 struts were valved to match eibach struts. they should be a decent combo. i have not had zx2 struts but ive had the tokico hp's. they are pretty soft

my experience with zx2s (currently on my car) is that they're really soft. the springs are stiff, and even out so that you wont bottom out, and get a nice drop overall. eibachs are some of da best out there, so i've heard. the setup is good combined, but zx2's with anything else.. i duno really. haha, good luck w/ ur suspension man

just ordered them last week, I should receive everything soon.

What can I use to stiffen the struts if they are too soft like Guido was saying?

I will be running 17" too and the road here in quebec are pretty bad...

thanks for your help guys

Pat,
If you're running 215/40 17 they won't rub. I am currently running 215/45...

Anyway the ride is TOO soft.. I suggest you to revalve them.

What do you need to do to revalve them?

Isnt possible to make the springs stiffer by adding some kind of spacers to the struts...?

I am not an expert, but to revalve them means that you change the oil to a more viscous one and you put more restrictive bafflets where it passes.

koni's can be revalved. tokicos cannot.

so the tokico heavy duty are oil shock? I was hoping they would be gas struts like the tokico premium

tokico are gas shock/struts depending on application and cannot be revalved.

ok nice, anyway I hope everything will be nice. I heard its a pretty good combo tokico heavy duty / eibach pro set.

I will just make sure to do like Guido said and use 215/40 17 tires... so nothing rub at all.

I will order the rest of the parts I need this week. I was also wondering, on the FAQ the guy bought the camber bolts from canadian tire. But would these camber bolts do the job ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2449333736&category=33630

let me know plz, cant wait to install these struts & springs. I am also adding strut bars and a rear whiteline sway bar and 17" wheels. Should be fun to drive in the curves now :)

Also depends on your wheel width and offset whether they are going to rub or not. Tire choice can also make a difference.
