What year springs

Post by Redlined »

I know this is probably posted somewhere but if someone knows could they tell me what year springs or coilovers from the escort fit our cars. Its cheaper to get them for the escort and if they are the same why not right? And also I know I need to adjust with the camber kit but I have never heard of this toe thing that I have been reading in the threads. What do I need to get to adjust the toe and what the hell is the toe? :welder:

90 - 95 will definitely fit from the Escort.

Camber kit, what the hell is a camber kit? Don't you know these are Mazda's we're talkin about here. Mx-3's don't use camber kit's. These kit's are for HONDA'S, however there are eccentric bolts you can buy that replace the bolt going through the strut and spindle. Even with coilovers, or springs, you should'nt have to worry about the camber being a major issue. Camber should still be in factory specs after lowering.

Toe is an issue, and is the leading cause of tire wear. Toe is the angle btwn the directon a wheel is aimed and a line parallel to the centerline of the car. This means if your steering wheel is straight and not crooked, then your wheels should be pointing straight ahead to make for the best tire wear.

After you lower it, just get the car aligned.

Cusco makes camber plates that replace the strut perch letting you adjust the camber of the strut/wheel. So technically there are camber kits out there for our cars.

Yes Cusco, and Ground Control both make adjustable camber/caster plates. They don't call them kit's though.

Camber kits are in reference to Honda's, or Mistubishi's with an SLA (upper/lower control arm) suspension. It has the sole purpose of changing camber that did not otherwise have a factory adjustment. The kit's replace the 2 bolts in the upper control arm to allow a camber change. Some kits even replace the upper ball joint to allow movement.

The Ground Control part# is the same for the Mx-3 and Escort. I can't tell you how much mine were. :p
