Well i was sitting in physics class today and we're learning about magnetism and this idea popped into my head. We can use air to raise or lower your car in airride suspension. but could you have a "magnetic suspension"??? in a nut shell: we all know that like charges repel and if you put more current into a magnet it will be stronger and repel more thus increasing the distance between the magnets and raising the car, or lowering the current decreasing the distance between the magnets and lowering the car. Not quite sure how this would work but this is just an outreagous concept

uhh...... mabey anything i guess is possible with the right research

Ive had that ide as well but you'll have 2 issues...

1. It will require ALOT of power, and your battrey and alternator will not cut it.

2. You flip it on, and if its enough power to lift up your car, imaging what a strong enough magnet would do to you car, and what debris you'd pick up on the way to your destinantion.

thats cool, other than the fact that you WANT to have suspension... like it needs to be able to move up and down

It wouldn't work well at all. The car would corner like pure dog-**** and basically be so unsafe to drive on the road.

Airbags at least have a shaft that ensures they only go up and down, Magnets can go side to side as well. You'd need a ridiculous amount of magnetic force to repel the car off the ground AND keep the magnets in sync.

Imagine acceleration. the lower magnets wuld be moving faster than the body of the car, how would that work? The magents would shift over, and f*ck up the axle, the wheels might even bang into the fender during this process....same with braking.

LOL, turn up yopur radio and when the Bass pulls power, your car would lower. LOL
