Hi, what you all guys say about my engine?
Im planning to put plastic cover on the intake and distributor and go to a pressure washing place and wash the whole engine bay. Should I use some engine cleanner? those things work?!

Previous and unique owner never cleaned the engine. so, it has 70k miles of dust, grease, oil, etc.

3,4,5 valve cover doesnt look as bad in the picture acctually.

I want to had the engine shiny as soon as posible.

Its ok if I use pressure water?

Personally, I would say no. I've taken off house paint with pressure washers...

I would rinse off all the loose dirt, then come in with degreaser, and finally finish with window cleaner. A little time consuming, but If you take care of your bay, you will never have to do it again.

Mine wasn't nearly as dirty, I clean it every year, but here is a before and after picture of my engine cleaning job. Noticed I only bagged off the distributer and the power distribution box. I used foaming engine cleaner. 1can. I would use 2 for yours, and I used a wire brush for any stubborn grease. After that I rinsed the engine down with a hose without an attachment on it...just flowing water. After wards I sprayed the whole engine with armour all and wiped it all down...thats not necessary though....

oh ok, so the seal doesn't have to be perfect? because it looks like mine is coming off a little bit, and i'm trying to figure out where the oil leak is coming from. i guess it's not in there though.

i have NEVER seen a dirtier engine evAr! What the hell...that isn't just "70k of dirt build up". I've seen engines with 250,000+ miles that weren't 1/3rd as dirty as that that have never been cleaned. The previous owner must have sprayed it with armor-all then drivin it through a sandstorm or something! That is ridiculous!

Hey Killer Pickle-- re size those pics or edit your post to put the pics on top of each other instead of side-by side.

Thanks!
