Thumbs up for these tires

I just replaced my Falkens with Dunlop SP Sport FM901's and what a difference. Aggressive tread pattern (kinda looks like flames) and a soft compound that grabs the pavement like they had claws. Large bead for rim protection. A bit expensive but worth every penny. Highly reccommend. Only downer is they won't last too long. Wear rate of 200.

Those are a little BEYOND what I was talking about. Those probably aren't the best tire for a daily driver. They'll heat-cycle out too quickly. Falken Azenis, BFG KD, Potenza S-03.....those are the GOOD stuff for daily drivers...IMHO.
warning: those are SUMMER tires only. They don't "like" rain, and would probably be deadly in snow.

And I'll never buy Falkens again.
[ June 19, 2003: Message edited by: Darren Hyderman ]

They are not drag radials, if thats what you want. But I'd bet money they are better than most anything else on the drag strip, especially the Azenis, just because I have personal experience with them. Better bump up your launch rpm or you're going to bog ;)

This thread was not supposed to be about 1 tire VS another. It was and is Dunlop FM901 highly recommend because I have them and they perform well for street. So future buyers can look into them if they choose.

Yeah, and I'm happy that you're happy with your choice. Just saying that if you think the Dunlops have "lots of grip", then you'd love some of the other tires I mentioned.
Not bad-mouthing the Dunlops at all...

I just put a couple of the new Cooper Zeon 2XS tires on mine. On the ride home they seem to hold on to corners very well. Still plenty streetable but much stiffer sidewalls than the Toyo Proxies I pulled off. They're s'posed to clear water well but will be useless in snow. It's stil a bit early yet but my initial feeling is that they'll out perform the Proxies...for about half the $.
