Does anyone drive their lowered MX-3's in the winter...and I mean when there is a lot of snow.<p>Any comments?

That is the exact reason that I can't lower my car. I need the ground clearance.

Question: In case i buy ZX2´s struts and S/T springs, is possible to buy in future coilovers WITHOUT springs? b/c i will probably need higher my car for winter driving and i have new S/T springs and don´t want sell them. Or are springs in coilovers kit´s (etc. Ground Control+Einbach)spec. designed for the coilover kit so i´ll need buy coilover kit (with springs)??

I did drive my lowered car this winter, and it was a pain, I cracked my front spoiler twice. I wouldn't recommend driving in more than 4-5 inches of snow. Here are some pics btw,<p>

Hey zytariuk, What kind of tires do you have?
If you can go thru winter, then the tires must be good.

zytariuk How big r ur rims and Tires I'm getting the same springs and strut setup as u i just wanna general idea of how mine will look
I have 16" rims with 205 - 45R - 16 Toyo tires

they look like 17" motegi MR7s

I heard coil-overs dont like being drove in the winter, i heard 2 different things:<p>1)The road salt eats the aluminuum
2)They seaze<p>I ideally want coil-overs, but i may need to drive her for another winter or two, and since coil-overs a big bucks, i dont wanna waste money for nothing

I drove through most of the winter with my apex springs and stock struts.<p>No major problems, hard ice and snow occasionaly built up on my wheels when it was really cold, had to keep an eye on that.<p>Only bottomed out once when I was trying to go my drive way but it was my fault, I made a lame futile attempt to gun my car up the driveway in a snow/ice storm, no such luch, car bottomed out at the bottom and it took me like 20 minutes to dig it out then another 30 minutes to shovel and chip away the ice on the driveway enough for me to get the car up.<p>That was the only bad experience other than that it was ok, traction wasn't the greatest sometimes with the Toyo tires but it wasn't too bad either.
