clunking sound on accel and decel

Whenever i accelerate or decelerate there is a clunk like the trans or the motor is jumping. It doesn't seem to be suspension related and i have lived with it for 2 years now, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has this noise occur when driving. Its most pronounced when i accelerate and then apply the brakes and the transmission downshifts (auto trans).

Check your motor/trans mounts.

to be making noise like what you say, they will be completely busted(or pretty close). they usually split in half. just look at the mount. the rubber inside is what will crack/break. my rear mount on my altima is busted and on light accel or slowing down in a lower gear it "rattles". the busted mount is allowing too much vibration and is probably vibrating something on the firewall.
