I have a mx3 v6 fitted with eibach springs(lower 25-30mm). I have TSW 7x16 alloys with 215/40 tires,but want to up the tires to either 215/45 or 225/45. What I would like to know is will the 225/45's be ok on full lock on steering and will it restrict suspension travel/foul on the w/arches.<P>I have checked out some of the tire web sites and the 225/45's on a 16x7 rim is nearly exact same diameter as the standard fit(205/55's on 15x6.5)i.e 608mm/607mm and only 15mm wider(228mm/213mm)

I currently have 215/35s on my 18s.... and I cannot go to a 225 as it would rub against the strut. Also , if you have a wheel with the right offset, you might be able to get away with it.<BR>I have a 38mm offset with the 18x8s and I can hardly get my finger between the rubber and the strut...<P>cheers,
