How difficult is it to install? Any special instructions or tools? Did the instructions come with the bars? Thanks.

its stupid simple (not to say that your stupid or anything) all you do is take the strut nuts off put the brace over them and put the nuts back on....and for the back some cutting of the speekr housing and the seat belt bracket is required but nothing major took like 10 min with a dremel cutting disk.....and then do the same as the front

they are generic strut tower bars...they'll stiffen up things a bit, but by no means to the extent of some of the other available STBs.

unless you are hardcore into autox you won't really be able to tell the difference between this brand and say...mazdaspeed.

you say that as if people who put cone filters on their cars are beneath you...no matter
granted, you..er...they, may not "feel" the extra 5hp but it will show in a race between another car of the same caliber...granted, not by much. or it may shave a small amount of time off the 1/4mi, which in this case, every bit helps.
oh, i also think it's safe to say that not everyone here has a cone filter on their car...including myself

[ January 19, 2002: Message edited by: cre8v mx3 ]

comparing these two situations is pointless. yes, i understand your "point", but i guess you missed mine. ok, say you spend your 40 or so dollars and get an intake...ok, you have more power that you can't really notice. now back to my point. ok, you get a lower grade strut bar and it does the job fairly well. granted, it's not as good of quality as other brands, but you really can't tell that much of a difference. therefore, if you aren't really into autox, you'd be better off buying the "cheaper" one since you can't really tell the diff and you won't benifit from the more expesive one. When you look under someone's hood, and all you see is Weapon R and Toucan industries crap, you know something about them. If i look at a MX-3 and it has the KL-ZE swap, Mazdaspeed struts, and H&R springs there is a difference.
You get what you pay for.

i agree 100% that you get what you pay for. i was just stating that for those who don't have 250+ to spend on a strut bar, you can get the lower level items and still notice a difference. me personally, if i have the money, i'll get the top-of-the-line items, but there has been times when i just wanted a little extra and strapped for cash and got the generic stuff(on my other car). i also agree that you can tell how serious a person is about their car when they pop the hood. case in point: my old next door neighbor had a saturn with a make-shift intake and mustang ignition wires with no boots.

the best STB for the BG chassis cars is 195 bucks, including shipping and handling. It has a warranty covering racing which is unheard of, and if it doesnt fit exactly how you want it, send it back, and they will get a custom bent one out to you. It also features a cam preload so that you know its tight.
