My turbo takes a long time to reach full boost, then when it does, it makes a high pitched squeal or whistle. Air Leak. Check all hoses and connections at the uppipe, turbo compressor outlet, intercooler, and throttle body.

I hear a metallic, scraping sound when my turbo is boosting Impeller (exhaust wheel) damage. Something, such as a chunk of uppipe pre-cat may have been ingested by the turbocharger damaging the wheel.

I see oil dripping from my manual boost controller or leaking out the intercooler. Worn or blown seals in the turbocharger. Small amounts of oil are normal due to the pressure and clearances inside the unit, excessive oil can mean a need for rebuilding the turbo.

I broke one of the studs that hold the downpipe on New studs can be purchase from any Subaru dealership, or directly from us.
