its actually a very neat idea, its 3 starter motors turning a very small roots supercharger, you can use a throttle activated micro switch to control 3 relays that would activate the motors and turn on the blower . Starter motors crank at wicked speeds and using 3 would mean awsome torque so I could see it making the boost they claim.
But they will get damaged if they are cranking for more than 40 seconds, even 20-30 seconds will make them wear out faster. thats why they say for short bursts of 15 seconds.
The only problem I see is the rotors maybe blocking air flow when the SC is not activated, unless they have an over running clutch that will let the rotors turn with the normal air flow of the engine.

I believe i remember reading that kits start at $2995? Not worth it at all. They say it saves you the hassle of refilling nitrous bottles? What a horrible marketing claim, only the foolish will fall for it. A decent nitrous set up will cost you around 500 or so and can get you up to 100 hp a shot. An electric super charger for 3 grand? Please, give me a break.

there was a thread on probe talk a while back about this setup.. i am suprised to even see it but hey he has gotta make money.
The thing is tried and true to the TKT name. its a piece of crap. The idea is neat and better than the fan blowers but still requiers a huge strain on a power system.. which was done with svral batteriers.. they tested it against a stock car of the same type runnign a 50shot and the nitrous car won.
i am sure if you dug around there enough you could find the post.. =]

see if you can find that thread from probe talk, I would prefer dyno charts instead of a drag race, maybe the guy driving the blower car was a bad drivwer, may be that 50 shot actually was making 65 H.P. there are too many variablies, but the dyno wont lie.
I pay $70.00 evry time I fill my bottel(CDN) so after 30 bottles I will have paid $2100.00 + the $800.00 for the kit.
For the performance that the SC gives it is a bit pricy, but most of the cost is the roots blower just that alone is around $1500.00 then all the other stuff, then they mark it up to make a profit.

curtklze may I ask where you fill your bottle?
I'm noticing several shops around here are abandoning nitrous alltogether.

long way to go for me....I was hoping iyt was like a franchise and there'd be that shop here.
I think I might invest in a filling station....just do my own refills and buy N20 in bulk.

let me know how much for a filling station, when you find out.
I know that the N2O is around 2-4 doallars a pound when you buy in bulk.

I think you'll need some sort of license to have a filling station in your house, not to mention your appartment Darren.

we dont have a shortage of nitrous stations in windsor.
i think for the money nitrous is a good bet sure its like 60 every time you fill up and over time that adds up but, its cheaper at first than something like that. its like people financing a car cause they cant afford it all at once.

Anyone can buy a filling station. ZEX sells a filling station kit, and I think it depends what the canister is full of that you'd require a license. You do not need a license to possess compressed gas. CO2, Helium, N2O for example are all safe to have in your home. I can only see a permit being required for combustable, flamable, toxic substances....nitrous is none of the above.
