KLZE + NOS ??

Post by tocixxx »

Hi
I wonder if anybody did this ??
I´m thinking about adding a VCN-2000 from Venom Performance to a KL-ZE !
Do you think this is possible, without having lager troubles ? Maybe someone has this setup ?
I think about a 50-70 PS shot, that should be safe with the stock internals. Am i right ??
bye martin

I would suggest an NX kit they are easy to install and pretty much ready to go out of the box. I finally got one installed on my car a week ago. I am only at a 50 shot right now and it is silly faster...too bad it's getting pulled out again in a couple days.

i recommend the ZEX kit. 10 times easier to install than NX. no throttle trigger bracket to make. it's 1 wire tapped into the TPS...the solenoid is encased in a rugged manifold housing so it's VERY clean looking. 3 wire hook up and DONE. 65 shot and up you need to upgrade fuel pump, adjust timing etc. 55 is a direct bolt on with no timing adjustments or mods needed. like the other guy said...colder plugs are a must, and so is high octane.

A-spec ran a 130 shot in there 323 2.5 a few years back all season long at the track. Was a potent combo running 13.3 all day with only a 1.9 short time

Thanks
So you would recommend the ZEX-Kit?
How about the Venom VCN-2000 ?
btw: I´m running 99+ octane all the time, in Austria Europe, that costs me a hell lot of money, but it´s worth every cent ;)
Greetings tocixxx

Well "I" would recommend the ZEX kit because I have it and know nothing about the Venom.

I think anyone with the money shoud go with the Venom just because it includes so much advanced circuitry. Lots of settable options for percentago of NOS released at different levels of throttle. Very advanced.
But you could probably get the same effect with one of the cheaper wet setups from Nitrous Express, NOS, or ZEX if you get an add on adjustable nitrous box. If you go that route, I'd pick the ZEX because the control box that comes with the kit recalibrates based on the bottle pressure.

ZEX is not worth the $$. I had the ZEX kit on my RX-7. It doesnt work nearly as well as the wet kits. It maybe be easier but its just not going to work as well. There are some fundamental flaws in the whole dry system concept. Since fuel is added via upping the fuel pressure the amount of fuel injected canges with injector duty cycle. You end up with different nitrous to air ratios at every RPM. They tune the dry systems so that they are running a proper A/F ratio at low rpm's and the mixture becomes progressively richer as the RPM's rise. What that measn to you is performance is going to fall off as the RPM's rise. This was very easy to see in the dyno runs I did on my RX-7. There was tons more power down low and only 23hp & 30 ft lbs of torque at the peak. With a nitrous express wet kit you get a full 50hp across the board and 70+ ft lbs of torque usually.
