You don't really NEED an intercooler but it is recomended. First you gotta tell us how much you wanna spend. You can get an i/c from a Starion for about $100 from ebay. You can get smaller ones also. I'd suggest about 2.5" piping, and exhaust. Before you turbocharge your car you should get some literature on it. Most concider "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, to be the bible of turbocharging. There are also equasions that will tell you the optimal piping size, intercooler sixe, ect. for a certain application, and that book has them in there. It's good information.

its not something ur gonna do in a few hours, you really need to research bc configuring everything is a main concern. get maximum boost and read that. also the most difficult thing is the manifold bc there isnt one available, u must modify ur stock headers. and u need to watch ur fuel pressure bc ur gonna run lean so get a fpr and upgrade the fuel pump.
research and take ur time b4 u jump into this

you don't have to modify the headers because you're not hooking the turbo to them. You have to run pipe from the headers to a collector that will be fitted with a t3 flange. That is where the wastegate will be also. But yes, lots of research is needed for a successful turbo setup.
