Whew! That was an ordeal!
I just bought a white 1993 Mx-3 GS SE w/ a bad engine on ebay. Had to travel from Charlotte NC to Miami FL, go to the 'hood, and tow-dolly it back home. It's my first MX-3 and this is my first post!
Cost? $475 + the trip......around $900

It's in fair condition, a florida car w/ a re-spray paint job (White is easy!!) but I am fairly certain it is an all-steel body. Brown cloth interior which is dirty from being the 2nd owner's daily driver. He blew it up w/ a combination of no oil and a lead foot.....so there is a 2-inch window in the oil pan and little pieces of piston poking out!

My plan is: clean it up, KL-ZE swap, see if I can rescue the paint, and daily driver/floggings.

Someone already nabbed my DS power window switches!! So that is a bummer.

But anyhow, I have one question:

Why does the clutch pedal go to the floor? Perhaps the line burst and the engine over-revved..

doesnt sound like you got SE, does it have leather seats? NO? then its just regular gs

When I ran the carfax, it came up as a SE and the monochrome paint.....is that regular GS?

you said it was repainted, you know what color was it before?

all 1993 GS SE cars had a full leather interior, with leather steering wheel and leather shift knob,
in canad they also all had heated seats, in the US heated seats were an option.

in the US they were all purple, in canada you could get a few different colours.

Hey. If you're looking to save money on the replacement engine, check the KF-ZE thread I started in V6 Forum. A cheaper alternative to the KL-ZE, but still a 40 HP bump over the stock K8 engine.

unless someone repainted the body without any accessories on it ie: mazda factory decals, door jambs, under the carpet......it was white PT original code.

Anyhow, all I know is the carfax auto check said it was a GS Special Edition..... it's loaded with the leather knob and wheel....just no seats

Anyhow, I pulled the oil pan today and found some nice things:

yea.... prolly for kl-08, kl is stamped everywhere on my '93
