Nitrous Oxide Limits

What is the MAX boost a K8, KL_03, and a KL_ZE can take? What inner-engine mods have to be done? (i.e. stiffer rods, stronger crank, etc.) How hard would it be for me to install a NOS Fogger system on my ride?

I saw a KLZE with a 125 direct port fogger system do a burnout through 3rd. He was spraying. Many have had no problems running upwards of 80hp shots on 2.5L's...I'd say 65 is about as much as I'd feel comfortable running on a K8, due to longer, thinner rods.

I've heard the guys at Probetalk say that you can't run much more than 75 or 85 shot with a dry setup. I guess a fogger could be set to run 125, but I'd be afraid of damage to internals at that high of a shot.

The O3 can handle a little more boost than the ZE, due to the ZE's higher compression. I still wouldnt put more than 75 shot dry to either one, but I would feel a bit better about it on the O3. Dunno about this K8.

Personally, anything over 50 and i would definately go with a wet system, just to make sure i dont get a lean-out problem which leads to a rod through the block or something.

excellent point, maybe I should rephrase. I wouldnt put more than a 75 shot thru it no matter what system you use. I most liekly wouldnt use nitrous at all anyways. I am trying to find a decent SC system now for the Neon, but to no avail. Maybe ill have to get a PT Cruiser system and modify it a bit.

Ive been searching the net all day and havent come up with any commercially available kits for the Neon. There are quite a few for the cruiser which utilizes most of the Neon for its frame/drivetrain, but none for the Neon. I would imagine that since the Neon and PT have the same engine that the kits would be compatible, but the kits that say Whipple makes won't fit under my hood. I did find a company dalled Hahn Racecraft that has Turbo kits that make about 200-225 hp on only 5-7 psi for only 2700 bux. Not too shabby. They have also produced the worlds fastest Neon, it runs a mid 10, and is a daily driver. Maybe I should just go turbo the damn thing. Decisions

dude go with the hahn set up, the place in chicago i assume is what u mean, theres a couple of eclipses runnin around here that have been built by them and those things are damn near untouchble on the street, they;re friggin wicked, that neon was the one ont he cover of hotrod, that thing is NUTZ!!!, and they were using a semi stock tranny, hah hah 10sec in a neon is a LOT faster than i wanna go in a FWD, good luck, and go with hahn, everyone i've talked to around here that has the eclipses are EXTREMLY please with the service they recieved.

Hahn does have a pretty good reputation about turboing the neon and non-turbo eclipses. But choose your mode of FI not for availability, but rather by what you want out of it.
There are companys that will build custom supercharger kits out there. Check out Rimmer if you still want a SC. Also a M45 i just a size of a blower made by Eaton. 45 cubic inch blower. Its the same size they use for all the civics.
Good luck in your quest. You really should try autocrossing, as neons are a great car, and the R/T especially. One of the few cars that I actually fear in STS

You actually fear the R/T in the autocross? Boy, theyd really have to do some hardening the steering up for my tastes. I feel like its a bit numb, Decent steering response, but it just doesnt have the reflexes that i want. But i will agree that it takes a lot to make the tires lose grip. That and its pretty decent at shooting out of hard corners. I would autocross, but i cant afford all those tires.

They are the best FWD non-lsd car out there for autocross competition.
And i only went through 1 set of tires this year, so thats 250 bucks.
