WHY MAZDA??? WHY?????!!!!!!

Post by MarkMoore »

WHY?!!!!!! can some one please tell me what mazda was thinking when they used that horrendous purple-ish tweed/yarn stuff as a choice for our door panels/seats. That is quite possibly some of the worst interior styling i've ever seen---especially for such an awesome car. it took me about 3 minutes of trying to shampoo it to rejuvinate it, after i realized this wasn't gonna get any better. anyway, what are some of my options of changing the door panels? i think that some one had it fiberglassed - what's all involved in putting that together, and how much will it run ya? if i opt to just use different fabric for the door panels, how would i go about doin it? some one wanna school me? How hard of a job will this be? i see tons of pics of it redone, so i'm assuming that at least a couple could help me out. hey thanks a lot guys.

P.S. Boycott the shampoo, go for the real poo!!

ROFLMAO! I agree completely.

WHY IN THE FRIGGIN WOLRD did mazda decide to use the fugly red/orange/teal/purple fabric inserts for the door & seats.

Anoter question...WHY IN THE WORLD are the front seats outside fabric BLUE. The rear seats at least have black on fugly fabric....but the fronts have blue on fugly fabric...doesn't make sense.

I'm stlil in the process of redoing my seatcovers with black on dark gray fabric...shoud lok nice when i'm done.

When they were brand new, I like the fabrics Mazda used. I'm probably going to redo vinyl and fabric with my winter bonus check. I'm thinking of using diving suit material. I found a site that does all kinds of colors. When I get around to it, I'll price it out. Otherwise, there's a decent auto upholstery shop in town I can deal with.

I;ll have to take a pic and post it when I get a chance.

You can get it at walmart, or any parts store. Id suggest taping off your doors before doing so.

hmm... I might have to try that. It would at least hold me over until I can afford to get my interior redone right.

the 94-95 came in all black.
You may have to find one w/ locks if you have power locks.

I replaced mine w/ vynil, sun melted the glue so I replaced them w/ another all black set I picked up from a junkyard.

I got my panels redone in vinyl...it only cost me about $150 Cdn. but it was the best money i ever invested in my car already....cuz i totally agree the 4 colors in a stock mx3 do not go at all. Very easy to keep clean to :)
