Carbon Fiber Hood

Well, my new KLZE is in the car and it's running great, so it's time for me to start thinking about the exterior of my car. I decided to do engine work first, because I didn't want my car to be all show, no go.
I really want an invader carbon fiber hood. I just need to make sure it's going to be practical. I'm from New England, and I'm moving back there next week. We've been known to get some pretty cold winters, so how do carbon fiber hoods hold up in cold weather? Do I have to worry about them cracking and whatnot?
And also concerning the invader style specifically... obviously it's inverted, and the opening will funnel rain right into some part of the engine or another. Has anyone constructed a runoff, to divert the water off to the side of the engine bay? Is there even room for something like that? Where does the water pour otherwise? Does it mean being unable to drive your car in the rain?
Also, where would you reccomend getting one from? I haven't seen MX-3 CF hoods on ebay in months. Krazy Customs has the style I like, but it comes with an OEM hood latch. Should I still get hood pins anyway? I don't like pakfeifer's inverted designed, with the split in the middle and the rounded lip.
