Hood Pins.....whats the point?

Hello all...i was just wondering what the point of hood pins are other than looks?

Well for me it is because I had to take my hood latch out to make room for my intercooler. Also on Carbon Fiber hoods you MUST have hood pins since the hood is so light and could possibly rip the hood latch out of the hood itself.

Normally, if you have a stock hood and aren't more than 100mph regularly...well, it's to get that awesome Ricer look of course

OK....I figured if you got an after market hood you may need to use hood pins, but was wondering if there was any other functionality to them.....and appearantly they are needed if you plan on racing alot to keep your hood from flying off, I thought the stock latch would be good enough for that, guess not....cool....good to know. Thanks all!

it is good enough for a stock hood. I raced my GS and it has no hoodpins. My RS has a CF hood, and after seeing Jarids Video of him loosing his hood. I made sure mines always latched.
