some of you may ask. why not buy a freakin shifter u cheap *** !! oh well talk all you want. free mods are always the best especially if your bored and broke. besides why spend 150 bucks on a shifter when you can spend it on something else. stock shifter uses bronzoil bushings and i got em so im keepin my ****er. heres how you can do it too. :D
8. give the ball a good sand depending on how crazy you get with your hammer be patient and you probably wont need it

4 tips:
-if you heat it up to many times the shifter post, i guess you can call it, will expand too and it gets harder to move the ball. its better to heat up the ball really good the first time so that the ball expands more.
-the first time you heat it up keep an eye on it and you should see the solder smoke up or the oil burn off where the post and the ball are held together. that should be hot enough.
-keep it hot or it wont move
-when you have the hammer in one hand the upsidedown shifter in your other, make sure you hit the ball on the highest point, should be bottom back side of it. (i dont know a better description.)

disclaimer: i am not responsible if your burn yourself for you not knowing the shifter was hot after you heated it up and stupidly picked it up without remembering it was just on the stove.
in OTHER words... steeb burned himself :D

oh and you can get a B&M for like $100 now, but free is still wayyyy better. $100, that's like 500 chicken nuggets at wendy's!

when i did all i did was put it in a vise upside down and baze it a hit with a hammer to nock the ball loose it only took me two hits. The ball is held in place by a small weld on one side. After you have the ball loose just sand the weld spot off and move the ball to where you want it and give it a quick braze to make sure it dosnt move. Member the more you move it the shorter the throw the harder it is to shift.
