i've recently gotten some 18x8's and i'd like to know if those are too wide or if they would stick out much, i havent gotten the chance to put them on yet.

Depends on the offset. They'll be a tight fit at best, and rub the strut and/or fender most likely. Tire choice will make a difference too. Even if you go with a "normal" width, some are more square than others and might be more pron to rub.
