rim care

i have the original rims on my '92 gs, anyone know if they are/were clearcoated?<p>they are fairly dirty and i can't seem to clean them up very well, any tips for removing the black specks that seem baked on?

its probably brake dust. take a wire brush and scrub at em, then use mothers aluminum polish to shine em up<p>-Abs

i thought you were not supposed to wire clean alloy rims?

Ask for 'Autosol', it works really well as getting brake dust off the rims.

I USED SOME ORANAGE CLEANER..
I ALSO USED A CREST ROTATING BRUSH...
THE KIND FOR YUOR TEETH.....IT GOT IN THOSE HARD TO GET PLACES

i tried autosol (great on our headlights) but it did not help my rims.
i tried a semi stiff brush and that also did nothing.

I use just lots and lots of rim cleaner and get in there with a rag and a tooth brush. :shrug:
