I'm in the process of the same thing, tan to black. I ripped all my interior panels, carpets, headliner, etc, except the dash, that's last. Start painting each piece at a time. I'm going black with blue trim. It's not expensive, and the panels are fairly easy to paint. Just remember to sand and put (I don't know the name) adhesive (makes paint stick to plastic) first before painting. Good luck.

Actually, there is no need to sand at all. Just use primer, and it's all good. Is primer the adhesive that was above mentioned?

But what kind of black would you use? Because black spraypant doesnt look as good as regular black plastic.

It's called, Bulldog adhesive promoter. It makes paint stick to all automotive surfaces. By sanding, it will fix any rough spots. The only difference I can see is my painted panels are darker than stock. I think they match the black panels around the stereo and steering wheel better. The automotive paintshop here recommended all my paint supplies. There are all kinds of different things to change the interior.
