Do I have a chance?

I have a 1994 MX-3 RS DOHC, I have been challenged to race a 2002 Celica GT. Do I have any chance in hell or what? The Celica is one of those automagics driven by a damn 16 year old girl who can't even drive. For mods I have very little, High flow filter, 2.25" exhaust with Ractive muffler. whats my odds?

but why do you think that? its an automatic GT. The Celica GT is the base model.....

they will beet you because you probably have around 105 hp . the celica will have a bit more ponies then that it doesnt matter that its an auto, my mx-3 is an auto, but with the stuff ive put into her she goes quit nicely. lol its fun beating some guys cause they cant beleive that it isnt slow as crap.

are RS 's arent all that slow !! well once you put something into them, guess you could say that for any engine lol but lets represnet our RS.

but dont race her lol celica's are nice cars and my g.f always *****s cause i dont drive one lol.

You're going to get beaten. The 2002 model is rated at around 2400lbs, which is the same range as your RS. The base model 2002 Celica comes with 140hp from its I4 engine. You've got 105hp, tops. As much as you love your car, and as great of a driver you may think you are, she is going to beat you. It may be a slushbox, but that takes away the factor of skill when it comes to driving her car. All she has to do is mash the pedal to the floor, and even with that auto-tranny, she is still going to be putting more power to the road that you are.

Bottom Line: No way.

"Shift properly"? Even if he were some type of shifting God, I don't think he would have a chance of beating her I'm curious to hear of the outcome.

And just if noone has ever thought of it yet (sarcasm) We wished our lil 4cyl craps pushed 105, ---damn it, its a freakin 10 year old car, it barely pushes 90 or even 95 to the wheels with out worn tires, 10 years of piston friction and think of all those lost compression in the pistons. I drive one i know how slow it is, i just didnt wanna bring his hopes down and wanted to give em hopes.

a girl challenges you to a race.. she's got a fast toyota.. and its an automatic.

this happened to me a few times, when my friend challenged me to races (track of course) and the thing about people who don't know how to drive and have automatics.. is that they just smash on the pedal instead of trying to get traction. in my case, i had about 20-30 LESS horsepower, but my friend spun his tires at the start, losing time. meanwhile i sped away fine, and by the time he caught up, i was already at a speed where his hp didn't matter.

so i say, go for it, anythingz possible! lol and i also wanna hear what happens!
