Hood Emblem?
Hood Emblem?
How do you remove the hood emblem? Is it riveted in? I am in the process of getting my car ready for painting and I would like to remove the hood emblem (rather than have to mask it off) and then put it back on after the paint is finished. Thanks.

Just pull or pry it off slowly, it'll come off. Its not "glued" on like the back emblems.

well, I know that it will come off if I pry it, but I need to know HOW it is attached. Does it have a rivet to keep it on? If so, then how will I get it to stay on the hood after removing it?

Why don't u just remove all the emblems from your car? Thats what I am gonna do when I get my paint job. I am gonna take all emblems off, and keep them off. <P>Make the stupid people wonder what kinda car it is.

Its on with these 2 little knob things, you can just pop them back in once its taken out.

I will try that...thanks. As to keeping them off, it is my wifes car and she wants them on there. I could take them out and fill the hole within a few minutes, but I would have to convince her that I need to do that.

WTF are you talking about Barry? I KNOW how to get the back ones off. If you READ the SUBJECT of this post, you would see that it says HOOD EMBLEM! As for double-posting, I KNOW you are not talking to me about that one, because I have not double-posted...ever. There was another topic that popped up after I created this one, but that was NOT mine, so pay attention before you start trying to give advice.
