Hi,
I plan on painting my valve cover soon - are there any special tools you have to use to take it off? Or can you just undo the bolts?
I know DVH has painted it - so I guess this question is directed at him!

Thanks.

Its pretty easy bro, just take out all the bolts and it should just come off, well u have to take out the spark plugs as well....then just for safety, out a plastic bag to cover the open part, so no dirt or other s--- gets in there...
Clean the valve cover down good and make sure al the oil and s--- is gone and then paint.
Make sure u use a high temp paint as well, it will go brown if u don't....haha, i found that out pretty quick!
thats pretty much, im doin mine agian, this weekend, i want a darker blue....so if i run into any new things, i'll let u know
later and good luck!

before you paint it you have to wirewheel on a drill to scuff the metal or it may chip off.
if you are going to powder coat it they can sand blast it for not much

powdercoating is basically special paint that is applied with electrostatically charged paint gun and then has to be baked in oven at 400 degrees.
