gauges burned out?!

Post by marshmallow15 »

ok guys. i was driving last night and turned my gauges on. then i turned the dimmer switch all the way down so it wouldn't be bright and so i can see the glowing el panel much better. then it kind of flickered for a second and went out. now it won't light up...any help here? it has something to do with the dimmer switch i think because the air conditioning controls don't light up either...which the dimmer switch also controls.

Well i'll tell u what i did, but i've only had my gauges for a week now....so it's not a gaurantee that it will work. I was told by a few people that hookin ur gauges up to ur dimmer switch was a BAD idea....
So what i did was hooked it up to my cigarette lighter......i don't smoke and i don't let any one in my car smoke , so i don't need it nayways!
Im just saying that this is what i did......is it better than what u did?? i really don't know.......later :D
