Hi,
I noticed we had the same interior, and I'm painting the piece that goes from the shifter up to where the heating controls are.
My question is when you took off that piece, how did you clean it with the cigarette adapter and stuff still attached to the back? Like, I've completed removed the piece from the car, but it still has the cigarette part on the back. How did you paint? Just cover it with masking tape?
Thanks.

I recently removed that piece and all you do is twist off the bulb bracket (assumed you've done that) and unclipped the ciglighter ( assumed you done that too) the lighter piece can come out, it requires some twisting and aligning to get it out. be careful not to break it. I think you twist a quarter turn and then the shiny piece will slide out then you can pop out the green plastic and the steel front will just come with the plastice. the shiny lighter piece has two metal spring-like tags, I think you need to align them with the same width holes on the green plastic for it to slide out. Just go easy on it so as not to break anything.
Its had to explain but hopefully this gives you a start, but I would take that piece out to paint the console it will look nicer and you don't have to worry about masking anything. Have fun.

The Cigarette light unscrews from behind, you just have to rotate the back piece of the light and the others will just fall out...I just finished a full red and black fibreglass interior the whole interior was completely striped...anymore questions about interior just e-mail me and I will tell ya how it all comes apart.
Killermx3
