i bought some 18-gauge wire for the base wire for all of my neon lighting. i had a question. i stripped the end and there are like 18-copper wires. how do i know which ones to connect to the + and - wires?

Are the 18 copper wires individually insulated? Just need a little more.

i spliced the 18-gauge. they have like 18 small wires that are in the same insulation, not individual. i want to know if i just use any 9 for the + and any 9 for the -? or is there some type of certain method?

That cable with 18 or so copper wires in it acts like just 1 wire. Multi-strand wires are (typicaly) cheaper to produce, and more flexable than a single solid wire.<P>Use ALL of the little copper wires to connect to an electrical junction. Use completly different wires for the positive and negative terminals.<P>Take into consideration the current runing through the wire. I wouldn't run more than a couple of amps through 18 gauge.<P>If you know someone who's wired up their car you might try talking them into working on yours, or helping you out. I've found it helpful.
