Paint Job Question...

Ok I got a random question. I don't have enough money for a paint job just yet but i'm trying to decide between two different designs, I just wanna know what you guys/gals think would look the coolest (paint will come after the body kit)
(Granted I still haven't gotten pics of my car up yet but right now it's red)
1)Solid Black with metallic green flames along the sides, or maybe ghost flames.
-or-
2)Solid Black with twin white racing stripes down the middle. I have seen one MX-3 with the racing stripes down the middle at it looked really cool, just was curious what you all thought.

the mx-3 doesnt fit flames. the stripes i say would look cool. whats ur rims like? i think likea silver metallic flop in the clear coat over the whole car would just look amazing. my car will be painted white with a silver metallic flop. oh what kit did you get? that kinda makes a difference on the stripes too. i think the corksport ms style nose just looks bad *** with stripes.
for the flop, it would look like the mitsu white/silver look paint job...or caddilacs but best one i saw is the teg typeR championship white....hope that helps ya some! :p

I saw a nice paintjob on a delsol once that I liked.... it was silver on the front and blue on the back. I had been thinking about painting my car civic silver on the front and then fading it into a suzuki esteem blue from the quarter panel back on an angle. As for your ideas I think a 3" white stripe next to a 1" stripe not centered on the car but more over to the drivers side would look pretty good. I'm not a fan of the 2 big *** lines down the center

Thanks for the help guys, now all I have to do is sit and wait on the money flow *bangs head against the desk* Nice looking Avenger btw, it's one of the few Dodge vehicles I like. In all honesty, and hopefully I'm not offending anyone, but I hate Neons, they are so crappy and people keep trying to make them look bad @$$. (Well that and that's what my ex used to drive, til it crapped out on her, as well as the neon that she rented while her actual neon was being fixed, how's that for irony)

neons are garbage. You know how many i've seen with blown head gaskets? Too many to count. I've heard some people are excited here in canada about the release of the srt-4 by dodge but to me its still a neon no matter what you call it

I think the stripes down the middle are played out and the flames have been played out since the 50's

i dot know about the racing strips. Its not like every 5.o tang has them. get something different air brushed on the side of your car.

how bout you get blaze red w/o any stripes...sorry to say but the 2 racing stripes down the middle only looks good on um....the viper gts...thats about it....flames are retarded, and neon colors are ghetto so stick w/the red, er green er whatever your color is....put money in the motor its money better spent

money goes where he wants it to. if he wants show it goes to show.
and ok, flames areny really played out. some touches on them are awsome. and pretty much the only custom you could do now is some sweet airbrushing but i dont think he wants to pay for that.
single stripe sux, yet to see a car look good with one-dual stripes to me look great on many car. but on an mx-3 just get the two stripes, the the two small stripes on each side, not enough car for it. and space them about the size of the logo and ur set. any metallic flop looks great..

a friends stealth rt, gsx-r,tt stealth(in order) all ownd by him! notice the white has a slight blue look from the blue flop...looks amazing.

hope you all enjoy

Awesome Pics, but I do see what you guys are saying. Don't get me wrong, but money is definitely going towards the engine as well, but if you got nothing to show then in my mind it's not worth the effort. If your gonna make your car fast, you should customize the body as well to make it stand out around the rest of the crowd. My car needs some minimal body work done which is why I'm looking at a paint job/body kit first before I swap engines.
As stated above, yeah, the crap SRT-4's are still Neon's no matter what, haha. The girl that had all the problems with her Neon and the rental Neon told me that she is through, she's getting a Honda. I'm gonna convince her to go for Mazda, but I'm biased like that.

BTW - I've decided that when i do get it painted I'm just going for solid black (at least to start off with). My car is red right now, but (and if it's anything like in other states other than Indiana) compact red cars have higher insurance right off the bat, so in theory it could drop my insurance rate some.

By "Flop" if you mean pearl, then there are a couple of ways to achieve it. Lilac (purple) pearl has a direct opposite which is green. When you spray pearl, if you spray enough of it, you will also achieve a green tint over any light color (white/silver etc....)
