I've read things about removing small dents with dry ice... Does anyone know how that works or can anyone help me. An acorn or something hit my fender and I had my car painted bout two months ago so bondo is out of the question. Any advice??

If you have a Greaters Ice Cream place around you they sell dry ice for like $7.00.

My dad is a ASE Master certified mechanic and he told me that the dry ice will shrink the metal which pops the dent out. It seems that it is a good thing, but the paint will come off in that area after a while. This is because the shrinking causes the bond between paint and metal to weaken. If you use dry ice and the paint comes off later, you might as well just use Bondo or lead and just paint the car from the get go.

Found this in the archives:<P>You could try dry ice and a heat gun. Heat the area with a heat gun then take a small piece of dry ice on the tip of a stick and just touch the center of the dent from a second. should hear a little pop as the sheet metal suddenly shrinks popping the dent out. Works well on hail damage. I am not sure about Dry Ice, I have heard about it, but I don't know of anyone who has done it, but in Buffalo there is a place that does painless dent removal. they go in through the inside. If it is on the Door, the would drill a hole on the inside and push it out from the inside. Doesnot hurt pain and is smooth as silk. I try to get some dents taken out on my car, but the paint was already cracked and they said if they tried to take the dents of, the paint would split. But My dad had it done on his car and you can't even tell the dents were there. It was relatively cheep too. They took out 3 dents for about $120 USD. Just thought i would let you all know if you havn't heard of the procedure already.

well there is a guy here in london that does paintless dent removals as well and he will remove, lets say three dents as an example and only charge like 70 cdn <P>its called dents unlimited <BR>ill try and find the number if <BR>anyone in this are wants it
