What's the best way to get rid of the Armor All residue on the panels before I paint them? What other "prep" work should be done? I plan on painting the vent trim and the main front panel.
Thanks
------------------
Troy
93 1.6L RS Teal

I dont think you want to sand first. Then your just sanding the dirt and crap into your work. Use a wax and grease remover or alcohol to clean the work you plan on painting.

I agree. Dont sand it... Just use some rubbing alcohol and get some vinyl interior
paint from your local auto supply store.
Jarid Perry
94 Blaze Red RS
Now with NOS

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunatly I had already started the project before I noticed the replies because I couldn't wait any longer. I did sand it ( 400 grade ) very lightly and I also used a spray on primer. I also cleaned with alcohol as suggested. I am very pleased with the results...the paint ( purchased at Advanced Auto Parts ) stuck to the panel very well! I hope to have some pics next week ( owners registry ).
Thanks

------------------
Troy
93 1.6L RS Teal

A sponge and Alcohol!! this will eliminate all the dust/crud from using a towel, paper towel, or paper. Also try not to touch the area after cleaning it. User a good paint like Foliatec paint. and use LOTS of LIGHT COATS! I know its your car and u want it to be finished, but do this over a period of time, let each coat dry. I get SOOO MANY compliments on my dash. They think its stock or aftermarket. cause it still has the look of stock, just a different color.
------------------
Barry Clark
Moderator
1995 Mazda Mx-3 RS
Chaste White
<A HREF="
