Simple timing belt question

Hello. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what would happen to my motor if my timing belt broke? Would it cause more damage or would I be ok? I own a 1993 Mazda MX-3 1.8 V6 which I just bought and love. I don't know the history on the car. Not sure when the timing belt was last replaced. However, the belt appears to be in good shape. Any help would be great. Thanks!! :2thumbsup:

ya i believe the term is "non-interference heads" so if the belt breaks it doesnt destroy the valves.
