k series engine information

Post by Kokiriwave »

Ok, I'm trying to get as much information on the k-series engines as I possibly can. This is what i want everybody to do. I'll ask a question. answer it, then ask your own question. If your question isn't answered quote yourself and type bump under the qoute. If you know everything (LOL) ask a question with the answer under it.
----------------

Here are my questions:

1) When did mazda first start producing the K-series family?
2) What engines belong to the family
3) What are their HP and torque numbers?

2) What engines belong to the family
The K-series comprise 2.5-litre V6DOHC(KL), 2.0-litre V6DOHC(KF) and 1.8-litre V6DOHC(K8) engines.

turbo charging anycar is a good idea:) why? cause its fun:P

at 100k miles depending on how you drive your car and weather you have turboed it. CV joints might go, umm lifters will start to make noise.

I planning on doing an engine swap (as everyone else I suppose) either KL_ZE or KL_DE, and I do have one question.

Is there any difference in the parts of the two engines? i.e. Do I have to special order any parts that may f*** up in the KL_ZE directly from Japan?

My friend's installing an 3GTSE engine in his MR2 MK2, and I can't let him have all the fun right?

nope, finding parts isnt a problem. if im not mistaken the klde is from a probe gt. so if anything finding parts would be far easier as probes are much more common.

There are only two KLZE parts you can't get new here. That's the pistons and the cams. Everything else is identical to a US millenia motor.

Anyone clicked into the "Outlaw Engineering" advertisement on the top of this site?

If you have, what are your opinions about that product? Worth the money?

Is the search function like broken or something? All NA K series have a low compression version and a higher compression version.
