Check engine light or cruise control
Hey I have a 96 GS and the check engine light is on. I have tried to jumper it between ten and ground, but all that does is make my fan turn on and the CEL stays on. I took the car to a shop and they said it was a cruise control servo malfunction. I hav enot had a problem using my cruise control since the CEL came on. Any ideas?

It's normal for the fans to come on in diag mode with ignition on and "TPS off" (I think this means throttle closed & TPS switch in idle position) - I think it's a test facility for the fan control.
If your car is a '96 I assume it's imported from Canada, and is OBDII - in which case the diag codes cannot be read with a lamp in diag mode, an OBDII code reader has to be plugged into the diag connector 2 which is under the dash on the driver's side.

Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
