clicking/popping sound- what is it?

whenever i turn hard left around a corner i hear a click or a popping noise, sounding like its coming from the rear left. i recently had my front right CV joint(that's the right name, right?)replaced, which i was told is the axle, and had i not replaced that, there would have been a popping noise goin around hard turns. so i was wondering if it could be the same thing as that, but then i was told that there are no CV joints in the rear. I'm confused. help anyone? that click has got to go!
