Ok. This came to me in a dream last night (Yes I dram aboutmy car!) I was looking on ebay yesterday for dodge vipers (That wasn't in the dream) and came across a viper engine. Now in my dream I put the viper engine in my MX-3. Would this even be possible or is the engine bay just too short. I know it would have no problem with clearance when the hood is closed. But would the engine be too long for the bay?
Hmmmm.... If only it could be done. And if I had the money, it wouldbe done tomorow. Sorry but the MX-3 comes in second place when it comes to my love of cars. Porches, lambo's, Ferarri's aint got **** on my mx3, but the viper takes it all home. Especialy since I saw the new viper SRT at the Molson Vancouver Indy. Man I have wet dreams over that car.
[ August 14, 2003: Message edited by: sapper ]

Even if you could fit a viper engine in there, and change all the hook-ups including fuel, exhaust, etc, I think the MX-3 body would about twist in half the first time you hit the gas. LOL

if you converted it to RWD you could take off from a light and lift the front end off the ground every time. wouldnt you love to see the face of a ricer if you could do that? :)

why dont you just get the viper and take the mx-3 shell and mold it around the viper's body they're close enough in size it MIGHT work, it'd be a hell of a lot easier!
i agree though, i love the viper(97 GTS) the best, mx-3 is a close second...
[ August 14, 2003: Message edited by: dPmunky ]

As we were doing the KLZE swap and had pulled my od k8 out, my mechanic said that a 350 could fit in...personally, i find it wrong to put a domestic engine in an import, its...just wrong...

I've seen that, but I think I would end up going right through the 6 cars in front of me at the next street light. if I did that swap, and put a twin turbo on it I would be in alot of trouble. I'm thinking of doing the ZE swap, (Well I am doing it, its just a matter of time.) and perhaps I'll put a turbo on it in the future. When the cash flow is a bit more stable.

ummm, why not just slap the engine and make the car rear engine rwd!!! and leave the glass all un touched so everyone could see that sexy beast in the back of the car, justmake sure you put up a good wall between you and it!!!!!

It would probably be impossible to do without MAJOR customs such as extending the engine bay and and replacing everything forward from the firewall. It would probably be cheaper just to buy a god damn viper. It was a rhetorical and theoretical question, (if you know what that means) not meant to be taken with as much "seriousness" as you have given it.
Man I hate judgmental people :D
[ August 15, 2003: Message edited by: sapper ]

Actually, putting a Viper engine in an Mx3 has already been attempted. I think he ran into some MAJOR clearance issues.Image I could be wrong, but I think this picture is a fake....
