V6 Tuning Parts in the UK

I'm a newbie, so apologies if I'm repeating anyone.
Does anyone know where I can get tuning parts for a 92 MX-3 V6 in the UK?
I've seen all the websites from the US and Canada, but the shipping costs for bulky items like body kits is scary!
Thanks in advance...
Storm

hate to tell you this m8> but the mx3 is a VERY expensive car to modify in the uk> simply the main reason is import duties and shipping!

there is one company selling pakfiefer stuff> i think they do a full bodykit for £899.00. It's called Evo performance or something like that and it's based near newcastle.
the list:
TDI : suspension (however most places sell springs)
hks : any supplier for air intake
B&M suppliers : short shifter
Nos : any nos supplier
superchips : someone can adapt them to the v6

Other than that there is sweet FA and your gonna have to dig deep and spend some cash to modify it!

Oh you can also buy altezza lights from ebay for £149.00 (rip off)

for example just a rear bumper from canada is gonna cost around £400.00 > if you want a cheap car to modify this ain't the one!

hope this has helped some.

Yeah, it sucks. Although us UK's get the pleasure of having 1997-98 V6 models there is no aftermarket support at all :( However I am thinking about importing the lexus style lights from the US (ebay) as they will work out way cheaper even with shipping.

Its even hard to buy normal mazda parts online in the UK.

One good thing about there being hardly any parts in the UK for the MX3, is it makes your car very unique. Makes them quite a head turner.

Very true Mike :) the cars are real gems. However image my suprise when I drove up to a local woodland car park the other day, there was only one other car parked in the car park, an identical reg, identical color, identical everything V6 MX-3!! :)

I hope the reg wasn't entirely identical ;)

Thanks to everyone who replied. I ended up ordering a PRM cold air induction kit from http://www.corksport.com
Quite reasonable at £140 including shipping from the states.
Depending on how good they are, I might end up ordering more stuff from them...

Storm,

Can you let me know what the PRM intake sounds like?
I currently have a green filter induction kit, which is the biggest filter I've EVER seen. It's huge, but doesn't really make much noise.

I'm looking to get the HKS one as I've heard it is quite loud.

As for mods, well I should get some pics up really. I imported the ractive rear muffler from canada, sounds lovely, really does. That was near on £300 including shipping. Centre pipe was another £300, tempted, but not right now unfortunatly :o (

Spax lowering springs 35mm look great and the car has even less body roll now.

Hi Chris,

Since I opened this post, my car has changed quite a bit... In addition to the PRM intake, I have a Powerflow exhaust. The noise of the two working together above 4000rpm is awesome!

On it's own, the PRM doesn't make that much noise. You can definitely hear it, but it's not the loudest intake I have ever heard, it's sort of a hard-edged roar between 3 and 5 thousand, then it really starts to howl!
Aside from the noise, the PRM delivered a noticable increase in torque, power and throttle response. As an (unconfirmed) estimate, I would say it has added at least 4 or 5 BHP to the car, and combined with the exhaust, allows a much freer flow of gases!
Hope this helps,
Storm

Sorry to drag up an old post, but I was searching for powerflow and saw this :-)

I've got the HKS super mega flow, and let me tell you, it's loud!!! Only when foot is to the floor though, so it's quiet if you want it to be ;)
Considering powerflow system this weekend....

I'm sure you're probably aware that although the supply for "MX3" after market parts is limited and dealer support is nearly the same, that there are quite a few common items between the 323/Protege that are identical/bolt-on to our cars. But then, judging by the age of this thread, you already know that by now.
