Thermostats

Post by millionflame »

I just got a new thermostat, but it looks different than the faulty one I pulled out.

For one, the gasket does not have the "notch" at the top, and the thermostat does not have those two "jiggle pins" in it either.

Was I given the wrong thermostat, or just a different brand?

Probably just different. All aftermarket ones are at least a little different. Like mine had a completely different height. If it's got the same sized rim, then you probably got the right one.

Yes every aftermarket company makes them a little different. If it fits you should be fine.

Thanks for the opinions.

The thermostats are the same 52mm diametre, so I'm going to go ahead and use the new one with the old (but still very good) gasket that has the notch.

Thanks.
