Strangest Thing...
Strangest Thing...
I was driving along no problems, a little cold the engine was. So I pull over to put a jumper on and let the car warm up a bit. I get my jumper on and the car just dies. My first thought is that my vaccume hose has leaked again but to my dismay...
I get back in and try to turn the ignition, i get nothing i mean nothing. The interior lights that are on and dash lights all go blank. get some relay like sounds and then nothing, no crank what so ever.
I've quickly checked fuses, in the dark i mind you, so i will go back with a torch soon to take a better look, everything seems in order.
My next step was to take a step back, i turn the key on slot and the radio turns on, but is flickering a bit - not normal - but it works. My interior lights come on, but my dash doesnt anymore.
Where the hell do i start looking???
Fuses? Starer fuse? Relay?
Possible wire not grounded?
Possible wire servered to starter?
Anybody have anything similar happen to them? I've search and found all different things on the above questions.
Once i get a better look, say during the day, and with my trusty voltmeter, I'll start working again.
Just want to see what other people think i should be looking at, and possibly have happen to them, to solve?

Both the instrument cluster supply and the starter solenoid supply come from the Main Fuse (100A), left front fender.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!

Check your negative terminal on the battery for a loose connection. Tighten it.

Re: Strangest Thing...
Are you're interior lights dim or bright like they should be. Let us know what you fine when you put the volt meter on the battery. If you can, try and take an amp reading as well. Make sure you have the current setting right or you'll blow the amp meter's fuse. I think it may be an electrical short.

Re: Strangest Thing...
Hey guys,
Thanks for the replys.
Once I was able to see what i was doing, and i had my meter with me found that the battery was the culprit. Must have been the cold weather we've been having as of late, took almost all my charge from the battery, this made me think that it could be my alternator, but once i got the battery charged a bit at home i tried to start the car again, and well about an hour after i charged it the car wouldnt start.
Well you get that and I got a new battery run beautifully again.
Cheers.

Re: Strangest Thing...
Just saw this clarification. Thanks I'd been wondering the exact same thing as Zoso124 had asked but figured I just didn't have the energy at that moment to "go down that road..." lolOriginally posted by johnnyb:
