failed emissions

Post by RayRay »

I failed emissions again. This time I only failed for hydrocarbons. The limit is 146 and i tested 232. A few people have told me to replace the oxygen sensors. What does everyone else here think? Thanks in advance.

hey man, My car failed emmisions and I had to pay over $600 in repairs. On mine, it was the oxygen sensor so that might be a route you want to take. have you already tried doing the test with High octane gas, octane boosters, fuel injector cleaners, etc?? that could at least get you to pass. Also, in canada, there is this stuff called "guarenteed to pass" at canadian tire. Maybe there is something in your area that is similar. It could do the trick. Hope it helps

What kind of emisisons test is it? Is it an idle test, readings taken @ a certain rpm or run on a dyno? If its an idle test its not your O2 sensors.

All the secret formulas you buy to get your car to pass are is rubbing alcohol. If all else fails add 16-32oz of drug store rubbing alcohol to a full tank of gas. This is the kind of thing where to much is a bad thing. If you add to much your Nox readings will make you fail.

they run your car to a certain speed on a dyno and then measure.
